Julia Stuart Yilmaz
With a deep passion for education and over twenty years of experience in the K-12 sector, Julia has dedicated her career to empowering schools with the tools and expertise necessary to attract, develop, and retain top educational talent. She brings firsthand knowledge of the complex challenges that school and system leaders face and understands the difficulty of focusing long-term talent strategy when day-to-day demands persist.
Before founding Schoolhouse Consulting, she served as the Vice President of Staffing for Alliance College-Ready Public Schools, one of California's largest charter management organizations. As an educational talent consultant, both in her work with TNTP and as the founder of Schoolhouse Consulting, she has advised senior district, state, and charter management clients on a wide range of strategic human capital issues.
Julia holds a BA from UC Berkeley, a Master's in Teaching from Pace University, and an M.Ed. in Educational Policy and Management from Harvard University.
Tricia Fruge
Tricia brings over eight years of experience in talent acquisition and human resources within the K–12 education sector. Shaped by her own experience as a student in Los Angeles public schools, Tricia is driven by the belief that the right people in every classroom can fundamentally change a child’s trajectory, a conviction that guides every search and hiring decision she makes.
Tricia previously served as an AmeriCorps VISTA in New York before returning to Los Angeles to dedicate her career to strengthening the talent pipelines that make mission-driven schools work. She spent six years at Alliance College-Ready Public Schools, most recently as Talent Acquisition Manager, where she partnered with school leaders across a portfolio of campuses to fill vacancies with mission-aligned talent. She currently serves as an Contractor with Schoolhouse Consulting, where she supports a range of searches and HR projects, including developing applicant tracking systems, creating performance management rubrics, and revamping and codifying hiring processes for charter school networks across the region.
Tricia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Kaelan Dashman
Kaelan brings 15 years of experience in the education nonprofit and K-12 sectors, with expertise in talent strategy, organizational effectiveness, and process improvement. Grounded in the belief that every student deserves excellent educators, she works with education organizations to strengthen the systems that support recruiting, retaining, developing, and managing talent.
Kaelan previously served as the founding Director of Credentialing at Alliance College-Ready Public Schools, where she led credentialing strategy for more than 600 staff across 25 campuses and partnered closely with HR, talent, and school leaders. As a consultant, she has partnered with education organizations on a range of talent priorities, including hiring strategy, compensation benchmarking, employee evaluation, organizational culture, and credentialing compliance.
Kaelan holds a BA from UC Berkeley and an Ed.M. in Education Policy and Management from Harvard University.
